For the second year Rasmussen Bike Shop was the official bike shop sponsor of the Hy-Vee Triathlon. This year things were a bit different though, along with the event being an Olympic qualifier for the pros, it was flooded out, relocated, changed to a duathlon, and then changed back to a triathlon... but the most distinctive difference this year from last is the number of black Rasmussen jerseys that took to the race course.
It seemed that no matter what part of the event you did you were bound to see someone wearing the black of Rasmussen Bike Shop. At the expo and packet pick-up you could have bumped into Adam, Martha, Mac, Phil, Mark, or Cam... at bike check-in or race day you may have hassled Greg, Terry, Jeff, Sterling, Matt, Andy, Sean, Steve, Craig, and Squirrel while they were working in the mechanics pits. And on the race course you were likely passed by Doug, Louis, Reed, Lisa, Chris, Patrick, Heather, Matt, Amy, Jan, Kelli, Nathan, Jane, Emily, Scott, Steve, Jeff, and on and on and on.
Rassy black was in the fullest force! Thank you to everyone who was involved with what is arguably one of the most important triathlons in the world!
We want to make special mention for two of our team riders though. Doug Vander Weide and Lisa Marshall... who both took 11th in the overall results for men and women. Congratulations you two, you were the fastest in Rassy black at the Hy-Vee Triathlon!
